It's strange that he doesn't know the model or year of the tractor. I would be leary of that. One thing that I think is important on a loader tractor is power steering. It seems that power steering became common around 1960 or so. Another important thing for a loader tractor is to have a lot of weight. Weight generally comes with horsepower. Look for 60 hp or more.
