Like they say: "A picture is worth a thousand words". With out us knowing more or seeing it it would be hard to guess. You are going to have to tear it apart and inspect everything. At that point you will be able to identify the cause. I would be pulling the top and bottom off and checking fluid levels as I take it apart. It takes a lot of pressure to blow a valve cover apart. A properly workig vent tube will allow more than enough air to escape to prevent this kind of pressure build up. Take it apart is see what you find.
