Farmall B Problems

I need help with the belt pulley. The outside seal was out, so I got one for it. Inside of that on the inside of the bearing, there are a lot of metal shims that look like gaskets. I thought these were gaskets until tonight. What are they, how do you get the bearing out? I'm assuming they need to have shelak (gasket sealer) put on them.
I've read out the bearings in the fan assembly going out. I think they might be out on my tractor, but don't know what to look for. The tractor has a strange noise coming from the front of the engine, and I thought this could be the reason.
I really need help. Please don't tell me to get manuals, because I'm already going to get some just because I want them. Thanks in advance!!
