Wide Front ends

I just bought a 656 w/narrow front. I found a good price on a wide front at a tractor salvage yard. They said that it was for a 656 so I bought it. Just wondering if the same wide front was used on M's through 686 or did they change over the years. The one I bought is different than many I have seen. Rather than Large nuts on top of the king pins, the levers that turn the spindles are attached with smaller horizontal bolts. I'm looking for a wide front for my 300 also so any general info on IH wide fronts would be appreciated.
