Farmall M Copper Head Gasket

I just bought a Farmall M with a slightly stuck motor. So slight in fact that by the time I got it home put oil in it for 2 hours, and put a wrench on it, it turned. Come to find it has a ceacked head. I have an M head (casting 8860) that for shits and giggles I want to plane down andf then put a copper head gasket in it to see how much compression I can get. How far can I plane the 8860 M head? Where can I buy a copper ehad gasket? If they are too high priced I can make one myself.
