There's a down draft manifold on eBay right now for your tractor, or you can use the updraft one. I put an H manifold on my 350U (same engine as the 300). It's a lot stronger setup with the exhaust pipe supported on both sides by the casting. I've broke more than 1 down draft or front exit manifolds in the woods on high stumps and low limbs. The H manifold has held up great.
