Yes you need to remove the TA to get those seals. That big one is a bear to get started. I also had to buy a secound for the front as I smashed the 1st one trying to get it in strait.
Actually You may not have to remove the TA from the rear to get at the front seal. But I cant visualize a way of getting the old seal out and a new one in with out going through the TA opening.
