Your starter may be jammed causing a high current flow when trying to crank. You can put the tractor in 5th gear and try rocking it back & forth to see if it will dis-engage the starter. Or loosen the starter mounting bolts and wiggle the starter to dis-engage the gears. Not uncommon for this tractor.

Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
