Nothing dumb about it. Just try ordering one of those "free" gas caps and find out just how long it takes you to get it--that is if you get it at all. Some people think just because something is reputed to be free it's worth all sorts of hassle and frustration.
There used to be a guy on here who seemed to have a lot of his self worth staked on those "free" gas caps and what a great deal they were. He would get quite angry about any discussion to the contrary. He must have had a nervous break down or something.
Here's a little free advice for you--forget that silly free gas cap and spring for a couple of bucks. Don't take a chance on trouble.
