David, Are you talking about that whining noise? If so, this is probably just normal gear whine. They use straight-cut gears. Add 50 years of hard work and some of 'em really get to talking. The T/A probably is slipping at the ramps but who knows, it could be a lot of things. I'd guess worst case would come in at about $1500 on that one if you were to hire it done. My T/A repair came in at $2145, but that is because I am a little retarded and wouldn't let 'em scrap the complete tractor like they wanted. :>) Allan
