I'm trying to remove the left rear axle on my model A . After removing the wheel and bolts, screw and spacers, I'm unable to tap the axle out of the final drive housing. I've used a big hammer and brass drift, but I'm concerned about breaking the cast iron housing. It looks like the inner bering is stuck on the axle shaft, every thing else appears to move freely. Should I continue to keep pounding on the shaft or would heating the bering up with a torch do the trick. Can I damage the housing with heat.? Boy, I'm up for any suggestions. I know someone has had the same problem. Perhaps some kind of gear puller would work? I sure could use some help....Mike
