Gentlemen: I am thinking about a new tractor to replace my good ol' 706 Diesel that I use regularly and would like to stable. The CIH JX100U looks to be about what I need to run my 100 acres here in Wisconsin. I am seeing them on the lots with FWD and Cab for about $37,000 with 10 to 100 hours of demonstrator time. The price seems right and the weight is similar (a little lighter than the seven-oh by about 600 lbs. I am thinking that the FWD and more HP would more than suffice for the lesser weight. Is there any reason I shouldn't consider this for a farm my size? Do you think it would handle a 5 shank Brillion chisel plow? I have an 1150B crawler to trade so I am thinking about it and $25,000 should buy one of these. Or should I look for a low hour CIH 5240? I would rather go new if possible.
