I had a C with very low oil pressure, the gauge was aftermarket and read about 10 lbs. cold and dropped to about 7 hot. I ran it forever like that with no problem. Don't get me wrong, I'm not advising this. Did you check the oil pump? The tendency with the IH pumps is for the white metal end cover to warp to the point where there are large gaps for the oil to escape between the bolts that hold it to the pump body. I take it to the belt sander and smooth it off and then make sure the end clearance from the end of the spur gears is within spec. There are thin gaskets that are used as shims to vary this distance. On the C the oil pressure went up to about 15 psi hot after fixing the pump.
