The people who responded to your post have their facts straight. Although the TA was sold on most Super MTA's, it was an option. The Super MTA without the TA was shipped with an empty TA housing. The Super MTA decal on those tractors without a TA was round without the wing. As to a reference, go to your local book store and look at the last paragraph on page 111 in Guy Fay's "Farmall Letter Series Tractors"--"The tractors that were produced without the TA (which was officially a special attachment although IH packaged it for nearly all tractors produced) still had the long clutch housing and linkages." The people you talked to including the dealers, probably weren't aware that the Super MTA was available without the TA, which after all was it's main selling point along with the IPTO. This is common knowledge among those of us who have posted on this board for a while, I was not aware of it until I began reading this board several years ago. More than one person has built a Super HTA, but not IH. They consist of the front of a Super H and the rear of a 300/350. Unlike you, most early posters on this board come here looking for information, and don't try to tell those of us who have been here for years what is right and what is wrong-- I suggest you back off some.
