Indulge my old memory for a moment.

When I was a kid, we used to cultivate beats, beans & corn with these old gals. One arm of the cultivator wrapped under the center of the tractor.

Anyway to my point. If we should happen to hit a bump just right while moving to and from the field, that culivator shank in the center would rise up and bend that metal inspection cover right behind the belly pump upwards.

The big cotter pins inside would then "rub" on the inside of the inspection plate making a "ticking" sound.

Just an old memory; see if that inspection cover is not bent up.
