The factory battery trays on a 656 were something I didn't tolerate very long. I think the batteries get much too hot in there. The other thing I ran into here in Canada was I wanted larger batteries I built two battery trays that mounted each side of torgue tube. If everyone had done this there wouldn't be so many of these tractors today with shift linkage, etc. corroded to bits. European built tractors mounted the batteries between seat and fenders, and in 15 years both were destroyed.
