I've recently had this problem with my Super A and a new set of springs for the governor fixed my problems. After 50 odd years they get broken or rusty or weak so it might be worth replacing them while your at it. Also, I believe there are a couple of bushings in the governor housing that wear over time giving excessive play and you may want to check them. Hope this helps, SAm in NS
