That square section O-Ring needs to be a good fit in that recess. Without seeing what you have, I think they gave you the wrong one. Did you remember to dig the old one out? I have never had a problem with that. Im not home so I dont have the correct NAPA number available, but with the right seal you should have no problem as long as that recess is cleaned properly. scotty
