The flat spot where the rods and caps are marked goes towards the cam. Use 0.005" feeler gauges along side the rod / cap joint to make sure they are aligned properly when tightening the rod bolts (40 ft. lb.). If they feel too tight (slightly twisted), remove and reinstall the caps.
