Non-running Super C

A friend has been trying to get his dad's old Super C running so they could sell it. Well he called today and said they had thrown in the towel and were willing to sell it as is for $500. I haven't seen it yet, but I wanted to get some opinions about what I should look for in determining if it's worth that amount of money. I'll also get him to tell me what they have found when they were working on it so I'll know better what problems it has. Any opinions or tips greatly appreciated.
