Is the whole wheel turned around or just the tire installed on the rim backwords? If one wheel has been turned around, I would assume that the person that done it was trying to acheive a special wheel spacing for an implement or perhaps to fit on a trailor which the tractor was just a tad to wide, and they turned the wheel around and didn't mess with reversing the tire on the rim. May of had plans to turn the wheel back around eventually. If the tire itself is on the rim backwords, either some idiot wasn't paying attention when they put it on, somebody put on a spare wheel from a tractor that had wheel's reversed (in this case tires would likely be non-matching). I would say it would be unlikely that somebody was intending on getting more traction from one wheel and not the other. If so, I would like to talk to the guy. I would get a good laugh out of hearing some of his other philosophy.
