Kip, At the time of the IH 660 introduction, most high clear sprayers in the Delta were either Hann Hi Boys or Barrentine sprayers. IHC hoped to get some of this business which they did with the 660. The IH 660 was much better than the Hann which had an air cooled engine mounted over the front wheel which was the driving wheel, or the Barrantine which did use a water cooled Continental but had its drive train made from used automobile parts. I remember when we (all the area dealers) went to Clarksdale for the introduction of the 660 but I still don't remember what engine it had. John Deere came out with their high clear sprayer, which was of the same design as the IH, either later the same year or the next year. The IH 660 was followed by the IH 770 and IH 780 which were both of the same basic design but some changes. I think the sales of the IH and JD sprayers were about the same and they both greatly outsold both the Haan and the Barrantine sprayers in the Delta, in fact I think they contributed to putting Barrantine out of business as high clear sprayers were a large portion of Barrantine's business. Looking forward to seeing picture of your picker when you get it painted. Harold
