The mag or dist shaft is just a guess. They can become worn or loose and cause a misfire on one cylinder, a crude test is to see if it has play in it. The distributer was an option on a 41, most came with mags. From your compression readings I would say you have a gas engine, or a kerosene/distillate in good condition. To be sure, post the number you find on the head. You may have to remove the valve cover to see it. There are 12 different different head combinations listed in my parts book, some of which are assembly numbers which won't be on the head. The numbers will probably be 4 digit beginning with a 6 or 8 followed by letters.
