The switch problem is VERY simple. What we do is get a two-terminal oil pressure switch rated so the contacts close at 4-7 PSI. The switch goes into an unused oil gallery port that was previously plugged, or is tee'd into the oil guage line, and switches the excitation voltage to the internal regulator ON while the engine is running, and OFF when it stops. There is no possibility of draining the battery through the alternator, and no problems with distributor equipped engines failing to STOP when the switch is shut off.
