606 engine

Have unstuck my 606 diesel to where it turns freely with
a pry bar on the fly wheel. Want to know more about
the fuel injecters before I put them back on. Can I test
the glo-plug by hooking it to a battery? What else can I
look for to ensure that the injecter is working and not
faulty? Our intent is to change oil and fuel filters and
then give it a try. Are we on the right track? Thanks
