Alternator rebuild

I was cleaning out the shop the other day and ran across an old alternator. I think it's a Delco 10SI unit. Anyway, I was thinking of converting my SMTA gas to 12volts and wondered what was involved to rebuild this alternator, (ie: how much money and how difficult would the job be). Also, is it worth it? Is it possible to buy a rebuilt unit from NAPA for not a lot of money? I initially thought maybe the alternator was still operational but my Dad was quite certain that it wasn't.
