I have been having a steering/wobbly wheel problem lately and several of you have been very helpful with comments. Here is what I found. I was all set to take off the steering box today and see what was wrong, and had one heck of a time getting her in the garage as she would not turn right at all, and barely left. When I had taken the sheet metal off and was about to pull the gas tank, I decided to pull the steering wheel first. All the splines on the steering column were worn to nothing and the wheel was just spinning under the nut!! Boy was I happy that I did not have to pull the gas tank. I drilled some holes in the wheel base and attached the wheel with 3 allen head screws. I was so happy I went out and raked the pasture for 2 hours!! It was a nice day in Florida. Thanks for all your help. The wheel bearings get changed soon too!
