The live hyd on the SM/SH were not that much different than the belly pump, perhaps more pressure, but the main advantage was they were live. Hookups for the hyd on the cultivators should not have changed much. Yes the cultivator mounting on the front was a little different, doubt if that had much to do with the hydraulics, I don't know. Both systems were used for much more than just front mount cultivator's. My dad had a 47 H with a 3-disk semi-mounted plow (about the same plow slice width as a moldboard) that used the belly pump, it worked very well. Correct me if I'm wrong, but you said the belly pump was kept? The live hyd replaced the belly pump, the factory setup didn't have both. I suppose with an M&W with a separate reservoir you could have both systems. All letter series tractors were originally 6 volt, no matter where the battery was located.
