Check if its positive or negative ground, if the battery positive cable goes to the starter, its neg ground, and if the battery negative goes to the starter, its positive ground. I'm guessing, being 12 volt, its negative ground. Hook your positive cable to the tractor battery that has a cable going to the starter(not the one that only is connected to the other battery), neg to any grounded part of the tractor, I go to the motor-to-bellhousing bolts. If its positive ground just switch the cables
