Increasing Generator to 8 volts

I have a Farmall A and would like to install an 8volt battery to give the starter some extra umph (I rebuilt the engine and added high compression pistons). I know that I need to increase the voltage output of the generator to keep the battery at 8v. Can anyone tell me how?
