I bought a single front because: (1) I didn't have one, and (2) had never been around one. In SW Iowa many farmers on river bottom land put them on under mounted corn pickers to lessen mudballing from dual fronts, but they put the twos back on for tillage. Single fronts (especially cast iron ones) are: (1)heavy and awkward to handle, (2) easier to steer, (3) sinkers in soft ground, (4) UGLY! I even tried to paint a silver rim around the wheel to break up the solid red/boring look. My nickel. Dick Davis
