Sounds like he rolled a tractor more than once. If he rolled a tractor more than once, doesn't sound like to me he was concerned about safety in the begining. If he cared less about safety enough to roll a tractor, what the he?? would he care wether it had fenders on it or not. I don't know if he was kidding you or not, but if not the guy is clearly retarded. Fenders add some safety, but minimal. Probably added more safety to those letter series that had steel wheel's. They would bring stuff up and over the top with the wheel if you run over it. Like sheets of tin, wire mesh fencing, cut brush, excetra. They would also be way worse to catch loose clothing and so on if given the oportunity. Fenders would give you a little extra safety there. Haven't really been around to many letter series fenders myself but have seen a few. Doesn't look like much of a fender to me (they look small).
