First and foremost, if they haven't already, they need to check with all extensions in there direct family. A sibling, grandchild, son-in-law, excetra may have arranged for tractor to be removed from premises (needed money and sold it, or something of that nature). One branch of my family turned out to be complete snakes when it came to my Grandmothers stuff after she passed. Secondly, they really need to report it stolen to law enforcement if they haven't already. Thirdly, it was most likely stolen or arranged to be taken by somebody that new where it was. That should narrow the list of suspects down quit a little bit.
