The 110 is, I believe, a MID-MOUNT mower and not a trailer. Pull type of that era would be the 100. There is also an 1100 which is a trailer type but newer. Both are good mowers. Steven from AZ has the 100 and memory tells me he liked it. If he comes along I am sure he will post. Both mowers are balanced head mowers and reliable if treated right. We have a 115 balanced head mower and are just getting started with it but it looks to be a very nice improvement over the JD#5 mowers we have used in the past. For what you want to do, the #5 mower would likely be a cheaper model. They are very common and trouble free in the short run. The advantage to the balanced head mower is that it cuts below horizontal, though, and will do a nicer job on your ditches.
