Ted, our SMTA had an excessive shimmy when we purchased it. We did two things and the shimmy has ceased. 1) We were able to reposition the gear (driven gear - not the worm drive gear) at the top of the pedestal to provide a new mating surface, and 2) we installed a shimmy plate. Check the archives - there are plenty of posts on this subject. Keep us posted. Tom

We had a mixed farm consisting of grain and dairy all done with old machinery and by hand.
