986 Engine

I just purchased a 986. The tractor runs great and starts right up. I do not know exactly how many hours are on the motor because the tach does not work. It is showing 6500 hrs. The motor does have more blow by than usual...I would think. My question is..How much longer can I count on the motor, and how hard is it to rebuild? Are there any other things I need to watch for on the tractor? Thanks in advance.
