If the mag has a hot spark and you are able to start the tractor, not much to go wrong with it, or to adjust, except the point gap and the timing. I'm assuming you have a manual which tells you how to set the point gap and the timing. If all of that is ok, I would say your problem is something else. Do you have good copper plug wires?? If you are using spark suppression plug wires, throw them away and get some copper wires.
