Chad - Does your SH have live hydraulics? I suspect if a Stage 1 (early, belly pump hydraulic) Super H had live hydraulics added to it later on, the step-on starter linkage had to be added too because the live hydraulic reservoir would interfere with the original starter pull rod. But that's just a guess... Suppose also there's others (besides myself) that prefer the step-on to the pull rod. So the linkage might have been switched over for that reason.
