My H requires absolutely no choke to start. It turns over maybe 3 or 4 times and starts right up. After it is running, I will need to feather the choke to keep it running for maybe 25 - 30 seconds, after that, no choke at all. I've even got a spring hooked to the butterfly on the carb that will not allow the choke to remain on - once you let go of the choke rod, the spring pulls the choke off. I've found out that mine, like most H's, is pretty warm-blooded. Larry
