Dont know which one your talking about,the starter or the generator?But regardless,if its original generator,it would be 6 volt,could have been rewound for 12,but likely 6 volt.Starter wont care either way!IF it had a battery in it,even though it was old and probably no good,if it had 3 caps,its a 6 volt,6 its a 12.

Tractor Traction - by Chris Pratt. Our first bout with traction problems came when cultivatin with our Massey-Harris Pony. Up till then, this tractor had been running a corn grinder and pulling a trailer. It had new unfilled rear tires and no wheel weights.
