Hi Jim, Believe what you will. But just for the fun of it, try it yourself with a 5-gallon metal gas can or something of the sort. Leave the lid off and you can repletely freeze/thaw it over and over again until the cows come home with absolutely no damage. Put the lid on 'er and it will blow the bottom out of it on the first thaw. Same way with frozen water pipes: Nothing is damaged in frozen water pipes until they start thawing; any plumber will tell you this. Shut the pump off and open up that system before they thaw and nothing is hurt. Ever see a stock tank damaged from freezing? It doesn�t happen, as that tank is not closed off at thaw many times every winter. But, what do I know, Allan
