You will never know until you open it up. Could be a cracked head, could be a head gasket, could be a sleeve, etc. If the tires and tin are any good, I can't see where $750 is a bad price. I have agood block for $200 if you need one. I also have sleeves if you need them. A head gasket doesn't cost that much. I say go for it if that is what you want. It is only money.
