Cleaning a cylinder head options

Just pulled the head on my 484.
The inlet ports on two of the cylinders are caked in carbon/burnt oil from poorly seating valves (hopefully not worn guides).
I've already scraped out most of the carbon/oil from the ports.
So, short of taking the head to be dipped, what are my options for finsihing off these ports and generally cleaning the whole of the head of oil ,etc. before grinding the valves back in and refitting to the block?
