Fabricating a front weight bracket, opinions?

Hello, I am fabricating a front weight bracket for my wide front 300 farmall. I have presently fabricated two "arms" of 1/2" plate about 4 feet long, 5 inches tall which will bolt to the sides of the tractor frame. Are there any preferred points of bolt attachment? For weight I am thinking of a box I could fill with boulders.
