Temperature guages onFarmalls

Hello, I was thinking about replacing the temp guage on my 1466 and perhaps my 656.I believe that the guage and the sending units are all one piece. One expensive piece. My queston is are the ones you by now from IH any more durable than the originals? I am not sure I have ever seen a Farmall with a working temp guage. They are pretty expensive to buy on a regular basis. Thanks for your thoughts on this. YC
