Did you have the motor out or the front wheels off when you did it? How did you get the linkage out? For me, the short cylinder with the teeth that catch onto the crankshaft pully (or its nut) is rusted solid to the hole in the transverse part of the frame in front of the motor. I was hoping penetrant and some banging would get it loose enough for me to rotate the motor but I'd like to borrow on your experience for getting at it. I just want to turn the motor to get at the release levers on the clutch and statically check the timing. The starter works fine. I'll use the other motor-rotating methods and wait for warmer weather if it's too involved.
