A few years ago, I was getting ready to load up my H and go pulling, Our 1980 Ford F-350 ad a low battery, So ihad it on the charger for about an hour. I carried it out to the truck, hooked up the neg, cable, tightened it, then I set the pos cable on the post,,,, That is all I remember form there. My dad had found me laying in the drive way, and the truck on fire, I was lucky, just a few cuts and a few burns, I was less than 8 inches from my face when it went off. Was able to extinguish the truck and still go pulling, won 4 classes that weekend. Just thought I would share my experience with exploding batteries. I learned that when you charge a battery, it builds gasses inside, and when the tiny spark from the pos cable, (from the under hood light) ignited the gasses, and KABOOM!!! ChadS
