I agree with what is said. I remove mine and slide the bigger around end that fits on the shaft down inbetween gas tank support and tool box. It basically can't get out of there and will just lie there on the frame. The only bad thing is over time, it will wear into the tool box. I forgot and left one on an H one time, and after driving around I noticed that it fell off and I never did find it.
