However, unlike wheatland or standard tractors, utility tractors can be used to furrow, plant and cultivate. The 300 was designed to compete (actually surpass) the Ford 8N, or whatever the model number was in 1955. The 8N was a cultivating tractor, although not a row crop in the strictest sense of the word. Don't know if you could put a front mount cultivator on a tractor like, say, the 300 Utility, but it could certainly handle rear mount furrowers, planters and cultivators, and would thus be used like a row crop, as both the front and rear wheels are adjustable. In this situation it would be used primarily in shorter crops such as vegetables, or the first couple of cultivations of corn or sorghum. I am positive you know this, just trying to further clarify the difference between the three styles.
