This has happened to me on a Super MTA, our 504 and 460. I have never taken the time to dress up the shift lever. I try to prevent it by being more careful while shifting. When you are about to shift and the tractor and gearshift feel as if they are on a bind, don't force it! Pull back on the TA and the tractor should "free-up." It is then safe to shift.
